‘The Canary Trainer: From the
memoirs of John H Watson.
The story is set in 1890 and recalls Holmes
encounter with Adler in the Paris Opera House. She is an esteemed Contralto.
Holmes takes up a job as a violinist there under the persona of Scandanavian
‘Sigerson’. Holmes, thought to be dead by Adler only when she discovers his
face in a painting of Degas who used to regularly frequent the Palais at this
time.
